A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1-1 relating to the regulation of sight distances along county roads in
1-2 certain counties.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 2.411, County Road and Bridge Act
1-5 (Article 6702-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to read
1-6 as follows:
1-7 Sec. 2.411. COUNTY SUBJECT TO SUBCHAPTER. This subchapter
1-8 applies only to a county with a population of 500,000 <1.18>
1-9 million or more, according to the most recent federal census.
1-10 SECTION 2. The heading of Subchapter F, Chapter 2, County
1-11 Road and Bridge Act (Article 6702-1, Vernon's Texas Civil
1-12 Statutes), is amended to read as follows:
1-13 SUBCHAPTER F. REGULATION OF SIGHT DISTANCE ALONG COUNTY ROADS IN
1-14 COUNTY WITH POPULATION OF 500,000 <950,000> OR MORE
1-15 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.
