1-19 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-20 AN ACT
1-21 relating to the regulation of sight distances along county roads in
1-22 certain counties.
1-23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-24 SECTION 1. Section 2.411, County Road and Bridge Act
1-25 (Article 6702-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to read
1-26 as follows:
1-27 Sec. 2.411. COUNTY SUBJECT TO SUBCHAPTER. This subchapter
1-28 applies only to a county with a population of 1 <1.18> million or
1-29 more, according to the most recent federal census.
1-30 SECTION 2. The heading of Subchapter F, Chapter 2, County
1-31 Road and Bridge Act (Article 6702-1, Vernon's Texas Civil
1-32 Statutes), is amended to read as follows:
1-33 SUBCHAPTER F. REGULATION OF SIGHT DISTANCE ALONG COUNTY ROADS IN
1-34 COUNTY WITH POPULATION OF 1 MILLION <950,000> OR MORE
1-35 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-36 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-37 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-38 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-39 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-40 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-41 passage, and it is so enacted.
