                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to hunting in state parks.
    1-2        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-3        SECTION 1.  Section 62.062, Parks and Wildlife Code, is
    1-4  amended to read as follows:
    1-5        Sec. 62.062.  Season.  (a)  As sound biological management
    1-6  practices warrant and until August 31, 1995, the commission may
    1-7  prescribe an open season for hunting in state parks, forts, or
    1-8  sites where size, location, and other physical conditions permit
    1-9  hunting.
   1-10        (b)  After August 31, 1995, as sound biological practices
   1-11  warrant, and after it has established a classification system for
   1-12  parks in accordance with Section 13.001(b) of this code, the
   1-13  commission shall prescribe an open season for recreational hunting
   1-14  in state parks, forts, or sites where size, location, physical
   1-15  conditions, safety, and other uses permit hunting.
   1-16        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-17  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-18  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-19  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-20  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-21  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-22  passage, and it is so enacted.
