No. 179 By: Sims 1-21 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-22 AN ACT 1-23 relating to hunting in state parks. 1-24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-25 SECTION 1. Section 62.062, Parks and Wildlife Code, is 1-26 amended to read as follows: 1-27 Sec. 62.062. Season. (a) As sound biological management 1-28 practices warrant and until August 31, 1995, the commission may 1-29 prescribe an open season for hunting in state parks, forts, or 1-30 sites where size, location, and other physical conditions permit 1-31 hunting. 1-32 (b) After August 31, 1995, as sound biological practices 1-33 warrant, and after it has established a classification system for 1-34 parks in accordance with Section 13.001(b) of this code, the 1-35 commission shall prescribe an open season for recreational hunting 1-36 in state parks, forts, or sites where size, location, physical 1-37 conditions, safety, and other uses permit hunting. 1-38 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-39 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-40 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-41 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-42 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-43 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-44 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-45 * * * * * 1-46 Austin, 1-47 Texas 1-48 April 2, 1993 1-49 Hon.
