  8-7           Amend S.B. 226 as follows:
  8-8           (1)  On page 1, between lines 21 and 22, insert a letter (d)
  8-9     to read as follows:
 8-10           (d)  Any construction or engineering contract that falls
 8-11     under this chapter for competitive sealed bidding or competitive
 8-12     sealed proposals shall not include a provision requiring a
 8-13     contractor or an engineering firm to indemnify the municipality for
 8-14     damages arising from negligence of the municipality.
