1-19 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-20 AN ACT
1-21 relating to sewer connections in municipalities.
1-22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-23 SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 214.013, Local Government
1-24 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1-25 (a) A <home rule> municipality may:
1-26 (1) provide for a sanitary sewer system; and
1-27 (2) require property owners to connect to the sewer
1-28 system.
1-29 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-30 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-31 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-32 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-33 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
