                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to the procedures applicable to the registration of motor
    1-2  vehicles.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  Subsection (g), Section 2a, Chapter 88, General
    1-5  Laws, Acts of the 41st Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1929
    1-6  (Article 6675a-1, et seq., Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes) is
    1-7  amended to read as follows:
    1-8        (g)  The county, the county tax collector, a deputy county
    1-9  tax collector, and any person acting for or on behalf of a county
   1-10  or county tax collector, or a person acting on behalf of the owner
   1-11  for purposes of obtaining registration to the vehicle are not
   1-12  liable to any person for registering a motor vehicle under this
   1-13  section.
   1-14        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-15  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-16  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-17  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-18  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-19  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-20  passage, and it is so enacted.
