   1-19                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-20                                AN ACT
   1-21  relating to the application of the Texas Health Maintenance
   1-22  Organization Act to hospital districts.
   1-23        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-24        SECTION 1.  Subsection (l), Section 2, Texas Health
   1-25  Maintenance Organization Act (Article 20A.02, Vernon's Texas
   1-26  Insurance Code), is amended to read as follows:
   1-27        (l)  "Person" means any natural or artificial person,
   1-28  including, but not limited to, individuals, partnerships,
   1-29  associations, organizations, trusts, hospital districts, or
   1-30  corporations.
   1-31        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-32  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-33  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-34  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-35  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-36  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-37  passage, and it is so enacted.
