No. 758 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1-1 relating to the reimbursement of legal fees for government 1-2 officials to conduct arising out of their official duties. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Section 104.0035, Civil Practice and Remedies 1-5 Code, is amended by amending Subsection (a)(3) to read as follows: 1-6 (3) The person is found not guilty after trial or 1-7 appeal or the complaint, information, or indictment is dismissed 1-8 without a plea of guilty or nolo contendere being entered, or the 1-9 person is no billed by the grand jury; and 1-10 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993. 1-11 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-12 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-13 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-14 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-15 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-16 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-17 passage, and it is so enacted.
