                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
1-1 relating to an exemption from the examination required by the Texas
    1-2 Board of Architectural Examiners.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4 SECTION 1. Section 7, Chapter 478, Acts of the 45th
    1-5 Legislature, Regular Session, 1937 (Article 249a, Vernon's Texas
1-6 Civil Statutes), is amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as
    1-7 follows:
1-8 (d) After paying a fee equal to the examination fee and
1-9 filing any forms required by the Board, an applicant who presents
1-10 to the Board a diploma from and, prior to June 15, 1957, is a
1-11 graduate of a recognized university or college of architecture
1-12 approved by the Board shall be granted a certificate to practice
   1-13 architecture in this State.
1-14 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993, and
1-15 applies only to applications filed with the Texas Board of
1-16 Architectural Examiners on or after the effective date of this Act.
1-17 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-18 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-19 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-20 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-21 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
