1-21 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-22 AN ACT
1-23 relating to notification to legislators of the completion of
1-24 highway projects.
1-25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-26 SECTION 1. Article 6673j, Revised Statutes, is amended to
1-27 read as follows:
1-28 Art. 6673j. NOTICE TO LEGISLATORS OF COMPLETED PROJECTS.
1-29 Not later than the 10th day before the date a major road project is
1-30 scheduled for completion, the department shall inform each member
1-31 of the legislature who represents <representing> the county in
1-32 which the road project is located and who desires notice of the
1-33 location of and the completion date of the road project. The
1-34 department shall contact each legislator to determine whether the
1-35 legislator desires to receive notices under this article.
1-36 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-37 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-38 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-39 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-40 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-41 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-42 passage, and it is so enacted.
