A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the imposition of a fee by the Board of Nurse Examiners
1-3 to fund the dissemination of certain required information.
1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-5 SECTION 1. Section 16, Article 4525a, Revised Statutes, is
1-6 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1-7 (c) The board shall establish a mandatory publication fee as
1-8 provided by Section 1, Article 4527, Revised Statutes, to fund the
1-9 dissemination of information required under this section. The
1-10 revenue from the fee may be used only to carry out the board's
1-11 duties under this section.
1-12 SECTION 2. Section 1, Article 4527, Revised Statutes, is
1-13 amended to read as follows:
1-14 Sec. 1. The Board of Nurse Examiners shall establish
1-15 reasonable and necessary fees for the administration of its
1-16 functions in amounts not to exceed:
1-17 Admission fee to examination ............................. $200
1-18 Duplicate or substitute of current certificate ............. 25
1-19 Duplicate or substitute of permanent certificate ........... 25
1-20 Duplicate permits .......................................... 15
1-21 Endorsement with or without examination ................... 150

2-9 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
2-10 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the
2-11 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
2-12 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
2-13 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-14 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
