                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to payments for evaluators based on the number of
    1-2  candidates examined for interpreter certification.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  Section 81.007, Human Resources Code, is amended
    1-5  by adding Subsection (k) to read as follows:
    1-6        (k)  The commission shall compensate an evaluator, based on
    1-7  the following schedule:
    1-8              (1)  $25 for each candidate evaluated for Level I
    1-9  certification;
   1-10              (2)  $35 for each candidate evaluated for Level III
   1-11  certification;
   1-12              (3)  $40 for each candidate evaluated for Level IV
   1-13  certification; and
   1-14              (4)  $45 for each candidate evaluated for Level V
   1-15  certification.
   1-16        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.
   1-17        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-18  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-19  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-20  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-21  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
