1-23 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-24 AN ACT
1-25 relating to certain state-owned land in Williamson County.
1-26 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-27 SECTION 1. Subsection (e), Section 4, Chapter 2, Acts of the
1-28 70th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1987, is amended to read as
1-29 follows:
1-30 (e) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, 50
1-31 acres, as designated by the Texas Department of Transportation
1-32 <State Department of Highways and Public Transportation>, in the
1-33 northwest corner of the tract described by Subdivision (2) of
1-34 Subsection (a) of Section 2 of this Act shall be transferred to the
1-35 <Texas> Parks and Wildlife Department, which shall hold the
1-36 property as park land to be maintained, <and> operated, and managed
1-37 by Williamson County. <Unless the governing bodies of the
1-38 appropriate city or cities and county having jurisdiction of the
1-39 land subject to this subsection agree within six months of the date
1-40 of the transfer that the park land may be used to satisfy any
1-41 offset or greenbelt requirements of a subsequent purchaser of any
1-42 of the remainder of the tract described by Subdivision (2) of
1-43 Subsection (a) of Section 2 of this Act, that park land reverts to
1-44 the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation.> The
1-45 park land <also> reverts to the Texas Department of Transportation
1-46 <department> if for any reason it is no longer used as <a> park
1-47 land or for recreational purposes by Williamson County.
1-48 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-49 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-50 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-51 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-52 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-53 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-54 passage, and it is so enacted.
