                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-1                                AN ACT
    1-2  relating to the terms of court of the 36th Judicial District of
    1-3  Texas.
    1-4        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-5        SECTION 1.  Section 24.138(b), Government Code, is amended to
    1-6  read as follows:
    1-7        (b)  The terms of the 36th District Court begin:
    1-8              (1)  in Aransas County on the <second Monday in
    1-9  February and the first Monday in September> fourth Mondays in April
   1-10  and October;
   1-11              (2)  in Bee County on the first Mondays in April and
   1-12  <November> October;
   1-13              (3)  in Live Oak County on the third Mondays in
   1-14  <January and the fourth Monday in May> April and October;
   1-15              (4)  in McMullen County on the <first Monday> second
   1-16  Mondays in January and July <the third Monday in June>; and
   1-17              (5)  in San Patricio County on the <fourth Monday in
   1-18  February and the third Monday in September> second Mondays in April
   1-19  and October.
   1-20        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993.  The
   1-21  February 1993 terms of court in Aransas and San Patricio Counties,
   1-22  the April 1993 term of court in Bee County, and the May 1993 term
   1-23  of court in Live Oak County are extended until, and will end when,
   1-24  the October 1993 terms of court begin in the respective Counties.
    2-1  The June 1993 term of court in McMullen County is extended until,
    2-2  and will end when, the January 1994 term of court begins in that
    2-3  county.
    2-4        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
    2-5  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
    2-6  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
    2-7  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-8  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
