                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to the juvenile board of El Paso County and to the family
    1-2  district court in El Paso County.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  Subsection (a), Section 152.0771, Human Resources
    1-5  Code, is amended to read as follows:
    1-6        (a)  The juvenile board of El Paso County is composed of:
    1-7              (1)  the county judge;
    1-8              (2)  each family district court judge;
    1-9              (3)  each juvenile court judge; and
   1-10              (4)  up to five judges on the El Paso Council of Judges
   1-11  to be elected by a majority vote of that council <and the district
   1-12  judges in El Paso County>.
   1-13        SECTION 2.  Subsections (b), (g), and (h), Section 152.0771,
   1-14  Human Resources Code, are repealed.
   1-15        SECTION 3.  Sections 24.167 and 24.635, Government Code, are
   1-16  amended to read as follows:
   1-17        Sec. 24.167.  65TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (EL PASO COUNTY).
   1-18  <(a)>  The 65th Judicial District is composed of El Paso County.
   1-19        <(b)  The terms of the 65th District Court begin on the first
   1-20  Mondays in February, April, June, September, October, and December.>
   1-21        <(c)  Section 24.136, relating to the 34th District Court,
   1-22  contains provisions applicable to both that court and the 65th
   1-23  District Court.>
    2-1        Sec. 24.635.  327TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (EL PASO COUNTY).
    2-2  (a)  The 327th Judicial District is composed of El Paso County.
    2-3        (b)  The terms of the 327th District Court begin on the first
    2-4  Mondays in February, April, June, September, October, and December.
    2-5        (c)  Section 24.136, relating to the 34th District Court,
    2-6  contains provisions applicable to both that court and the 327th
    2-7  District Court.
    2-8        SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1993, except
    2-9  that Section 3 of this Act takes effect September 1, 1996.
   2-10        SECTION 5.  The importance of this legislation and the
   2-11  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   2-12  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   2-13  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   2-14  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
