A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1-1 relating to the rights, powers, privileges, authority, and
1-2 functions of the Denton County Reclamation and Road District.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 4, Chapter 945, Acts of
1-5 the 69th Legislature, Regular Session, 1985, is amended to read as
1-6 follows:
1-7 (a) The district may exercise all of the rights, powers,
1-8 privileges, authority, and functions conferred by the general law
1-9 applicable to:
1-10 (1) levee improvement districts including Chapter 57,
1-11 Water Code; <and>
1-12 (2) road utility districts including Chapter 13, Acts
1-13 of the 68th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1984 (Article 6674r-1,
1-14 Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes); and
1-15 (3) public improvement districts, including the
1-16 rights, powers, privileges, authority, and functions conferred by
1-17 Subchapter A, Chapter 372, Local Government Code.
1-18 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-19 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-20 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-21 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-22 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-23 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-24 passage, and it is so enacted.
