   1-19                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-20                                AN ACT
   1-21  relating to the rights, powers, privileges, authority, and
   1-22  functions of the Denton County Reclamation and Road District.
   1-23        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-24        SECTION 1.  Subsection (a), Section 4, Chapter 945, Acts of
   1-25  the 69th Legislature, Regular Session, 1985, is amended to read as
   1-26  follows:
   1-27        (a)  The district may exercise all of the rights, powers,
   1-28  privileges, authority, and functions conferred by the general law
   1-29  applicable to:
   1-30              (1)  levee improvement districts including Chapter 57,
   1-31  Water Code; <and>
   1-32              (2)  road utility districts including Chapter 13, Acts
   1-33  of the 68th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, 1984 (Article 6674r-1,
   1-34  Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes); and
   1-35              (3)  public improvement districts, including the
   1-36  rights, powers, privileges, authority, and functions conferred by
   1-37  Subchapter A, Chapter 372, Local Government Code.
   1-38        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-39  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-40  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-41  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-42  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-43  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-44  passage, and it is so enacted.
