1-19 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-20 AN ACT
1-21 relating to the method of dissolution for certain municipal utility
1-22 districts.
1-23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-24 SECTION 1. Section 14, Chapter 1030, Acts of the 70th
1-25 Legislature, Regular Session, 1987, is amended to read as follows:
1-26 Sec. 14. Dissolution of District. The district may be
1-27 dissolved as provided by Section 43.074, Local Government Code
1-28 <Notwithstanding Chapter 128, Acts of the 50th Legislature, Regular
1-29 Session, 1947 (Article 1182c-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), or
1-30 any other general law, the district may be dissolved on approval of
1-31 a two-thirds vote of the governing body of the town of Westlake, a
1-32 two-thirds vote of the incumbent members of the board, and a
1-33 two-thirds vote of the incumbent members of the board of any other
1-34 districts that the district has contracted for the receipt or
1-35 provision of regional or area wide water supply, wastewater
1-36 disposal service, or any other service contract or agreement for a
1-37 term in excess of 20 years>.
1-38 SECTION 2. Section 14, Chapter 1031, Acts of the 70th
1-39 Legislature, Regular Session, 1987, is amended to read as follows:
1-40 Sec. 14. Dissolution of District. The district may be

1-66 SECTION 4. The importance of this legislation and the
1-67 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-68 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
2-1 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-2 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
2-3 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
2-4 passage, and it is so enacted.
