1-19 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-20 AN ACT
1-21 relating to the sale of certain park land by certain
1-22 municipalities.
1-23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-24 SECTION 1. Subsection (e), Section 253.001, Local Government
1-25 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1-26 (e) Subsection (b) does not apply to a conveyance of park
1-27 land that:
1-28 (1) is owned by a home-rule municipality that has
1-29 <with> a population of less than 60,000 and that is located in a
1-30 county bordering the Gulf of Mexico <115,000>;
1-31 (2) is one acre or less;
1-32 (3) is part of a park that is 100 <600> acres or less;
1-33 (4) is conveyed as part of an exchange for property
1-34 adjoining the park; and
1-35 (5) is conveyed pursuant to an ordinance that is
1-36 adopted under this section and has an effective date before
1-37 December 31, 1993 <November 1, 1989>.
1-38 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the
1-39 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-40 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-41 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-42 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-43 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-44 passage, and it is so enacted.
