                                  A JOINT RESOLUTION
    1-1  proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the exemption from
    1-2  al valorem taxation for real and personal property used primarily
    1-3  as a facility, device, or method for the control of air or water or
    1-4  land pollution.
    1-5        BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-6        SECTION 1.  Article VIII of the Texas Constitution is amended
    1-7  by adding Section 1-k to read as follows:
    1-8        Section 1-k.  The legislature by general law may provide for
    1-9  the exemption from ad valorem taxation of real and personal
   1-10  property used primarily as a facility, device, or method for the
   1-11  control of air or water or land pollution.
   1-12        SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
   1-13  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 9, 1993.
   1-14  The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against
   1-15  the proposition:  "The constitutional amendment relating to the
   1-16  exemption from ad valorem taxation for real and personal property
   1-17  used primarily as a facility, device, or method for the control of
   1-18  air or water or land pollution."
