    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Billy Wayne Marburger
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with
    1-6  the citizens of Sinton in mourning the tragic loss of
    1-7  Billy Wayne Marburger who died January 2, 1993, at the age
    1-8  of 59; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Chief of the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department
   1-10  since 1985, Mr. Marburger was well known for his courage and
   1-11  leadership and for introducing innovative and excellent fire
   1-12  fighting methods to the department; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A volunteer fire fighter for 23 years,
   1-14  Mr. Marburger began fire fighting at the age of 19 and was
   1-15  dedicated to his work and to the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department;
   1-16  and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Respected in the community for his many
   1-18  accomplishments, Billy Wayne Marburger was a maintenance
   1-19  supervisor with Tom Redding Company in Taft; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A well-known civic leader and fund raiser, he
   1-21  helped raise money for the Sinton Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter
   1-22  and other organizations; he also enjoyed hosting large barbecue
   1-23  chicken dinners to raise funds for the Sinton High School band; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, forthrightness,
    2-2  and generosity, Billy Marburger gave unselfishly of his time to
    2-3  others; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, He was beloved by his colleagues, and his wisdom,
    2-5  warm sense of humor, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by
    2-6  those who knew him; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Billy Marburger was devoted to his family and
    2-8  friends, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
    2-9  forever; now, therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
   2-12  bereaved family of Billy Wayne Marburger; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-15  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
   2-16  so in memory of Billy Wayne Marburger.
