    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  express its appreciation to Dr. Jo Ann Ford for her 30 years of
    1-4  devoted service to the educational system of Texas; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, For the past 22 years Dr. Ford has carried out
    1-6  her duties in the Georgetown Independent School District with
    1-7  integrity and fairness while earning the admiration and respect
    1-8  of her colleagues; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Her broad experience and versatility have been
   1-10  invaluable in her position with Everette Williams Middle School
   1-11  where she has dedicated her energies to providing the best possible
   1-12  education for her students; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A graduate of Southwest Texas State College in
   1-14  1955 with a bachelor of science degree, Dr. Ford continued her
   1-15  studies at Colorado State College and Texas A&M University where
   1-16  she earned her doctoral degree in 1991; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, She has been actively involved in community programs
   1-18  that assist young people of the area including the D.A.R.E. Program of
   1-19  Georgetown; she is a founder and a board member of Eagle Line latch
   1-20  key phone service that provides support for children after school
   1-21  hours; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Dr. Ford is the recipient of several honors
   1-23  recognizing her professional accomplishments; she was chosen
    2-1  "Administrator of the Year" for 1989-1990 by the Central Texas
    2-2  Association of Counseling and Development, "Handicapped Professional
    2-3  Woman of the Year" in 1984 by the Texas District of Pilot Club
    2-4  International, and "Outstanding Principal" in 1980 by the Texas
    2-5  Congress of Parents and Teachers; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Jo Ann Ford for her
    2-8  immeasurable contributions to the Georgetown Independent School
    2-9  District and to the schoolchildren of Texas; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-11  Dr. Ford as an expression of the admiration and appreciation of
   2-12  the Texas Senate.
