    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The retirement of Ronald A. Mittel will bring to a
    1-3  close a career marked by 30 years of exceptional service as Executive
    1-4  Director of the Schleicher County ASCS office; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Mr. Mittel has distinguished himself as a capable
    1-6  and visionary leader who has earned the admiration and respect of
    1-7  all those who work with him; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Ronnie Mittel has
    1-9  conscientiously performed his duties with expert care and
   1-10  dedication; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A native of Schleicher County, Mr. Mittel spent his
   1-12  childhood on a stock farm and was involved in 4-H activities at
   1-13  Eldorado where he graduated from high school in 1955; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor
   1-15  of science degree in animal science, he was a sales representative
   1-16  for Hess and Clark and Merck Chemical Company before becoming
   1-17  executive director; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, During his long and notable career, Mr. Mittel
   1-19  has been an asset to his profession and has freely given his time
   1-20  and energies to benefit his fellow workers; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A member of both the National and Texas Association
   1-22  of ASCS employees, Ronnie Mittel has represented employees on the
   1-23  Agricultural Workers Mutual Auto Insurance Company Board of Directors
    2-1  and as a member of the Dean's Agricultural Advisory Board at Texas
    2-2  Tech University; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, His devotion to his community has led to his
    2-4  involvement in civic affairs:  Mr. Mittel is the past president of
    2-5  both the Schleicher County Hospital District and Schleicher County
    2-6  School Board; he is a member of the Eldorado Lions Club, Chamber of
    2-7  Commerce, and Schleicher County Game Association; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, His retirement will afford ample opportunity to
    2-9  pursue his hobbies of hunting and fishing as well as spending time
   2-10  with his wife, Sharon, and children, Mitzi and Chuck Mayfield and
   2-11  Ron and Melanie Mittel; now, therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-13  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Ronald A. Mittel for his exceptional
   2-14  contributions to the citizens of Schleicher County and extend best
   2-15  wishes to him for a most rewarding retirement; and, be it further
   2-16        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-17  him as an expression of the high regard and appreciation of the
   2-18  Texas Senate.
