No. 46 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Ruth Davis Snodgrass 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the 1-6 citizens of Huntsville, Texas, in mourning the loss of 1-7 Ruth Davis Snodgrass who died December 15, 1992, at the age of 1-8 88; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The beloved daughter of William T. and 1-10 Winnie W. Davis of Trinity, Mrs. Snodgrass was born on 1-11 November 23, 1904, and had lived in Huntsville with her 1-12 husband, Joseph, since 1939; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Snodgrass provided a 1-14 loving home for her family; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The retired educator taught school for several years 1-16 in the Willis Independent School District; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she attended the First 1-18 Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Presbyterian 1-19 Church Women; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Her wise counsel and good judgment will be greatly 1-21 missed and remembered with gratitude by those who knew her; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to her bereaved 2-2 family: her husband, Joseph; her son, Wilson Davis Snodgrass; her 2-3 daughter, Martha Anne Hutchinson; her sisters, Frances Selman, 2-4 Lois Hopkins, and Caroline Tate; and her grandson, 2-5 Vernon Ray Hutchinson; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-7 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-8 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-9 in memory of Ruth Davis Snodgrass. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the 2-13 above Resolution was adopted by 2-14 the Senate on January 19, 1993, 2-15 by a rising vote. 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 _____________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
