No. 53 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, on December 24, 1942, 1-3 Mr. and Mrs. George Gaines of Grapeland, Texas, placed great 1-4 faith and trust in the future, and they have been amply rewarded 1-5 as they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The world has changed dramatically during 1-7 the intervening years yet Mr. and Mrs. Gaines have steadfastly 1-8 embraced traditional family and moral values; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. and Mrs. Gaines have grown 1-10 ever stronger in their devotion as together they have experienced 1-11 the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The love and respect they share are a shining 1-13 example to all who are fortunate enough to know them; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gaines shared their happiness with 1-15 their family and friends at a reception held at the Grapeland 1-16 Nutrition Center on December 27, 1992; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 1-19 Mr. and Mrs. George Gaines on their golden wedding anniversary; 1-20 and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-22 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 1-23 their lives. 2-1 _____________________________________ 2-2 President of the Senate 2-3 I hereby certify that the 2-4 above Resolution was adopted by 2-5 the Senate on January 19, 1993. 2-6 _____________________________________ 2-7 Secretary of the Senate 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Member, Texas Senate
