No. 54 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Williamson County Commissioners Court 1-3 sorely misses the expertise and administrative talents of 1-4 former Precinct 3 Commissioner Raymond Rister who retired at 1-5 the end of December, 1992; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Mr. Rister's diligence and ability in the 1-7 performance of his duties have earned him the respect and 1-8 admiration of his associates, and his colleagues thanked him 1-9 on December 21, 1992, for his 16 years of excellent public service; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, A man of renowned integrity, Mr. Rister acquired 1-12 a reputation as a watchdog of county funds; he always closely 1-13 examined bills that ordinarily are approved without question; 1-14 it has been estimated that Mr. Rister's vigilance saved 1-15 Williamson County $50,000 in billing errors in the month of 1-16 December alone; and 1-17 WHEREAS, An outstanding citizen, a fine man, and a highly 1-18 capable public servant, Mr. Rister has seen the county grow from 1-19 a population of 70,000 to over 140,000 residents since he first 1-20 took office; and 1-21 WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Rister is truly 1-22 deserving of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 73rd Legislature, hereby commend and applaud the meritorious 2-2 service of Raymond Rister and extend sincere appreciation to 2-3 him for his long and illustrious career as a commissioner for 2-4 Williamson County; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-6 for Mr. Rister as a token of high regard and esteem from the 2-7 Texas Senate with best wishes for many happy and rewarding 2-8 retirement years. 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the 2-12 above Resolution was adopted by 2-13 the Senate on January 19, 1993. 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
