    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Dr. C. C. Edgar
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of longtime Mexia resident Dr. C. C. Edgar
    1-6  on December 5, 1992, was greatly mourned by his family and many
    1-7  friends; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born on June 23, 1904, in Washita, Oklahoma,
    1-9  Dr. Edgar moved to Mexia in the 1930s, where he practiced family
   1-10  medicine and was respected and beloved by his fellow residents; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Dr. Edgar and the late Dr. O. T. Christoffer were
   1-12  co-owners of the Christoffer and Edgar Hospital on East Commerce
   1-13  Street in Mexia; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Devoted to his patients and to his profession,
   1-15  Dr. Edgar had dedicated his life to providing superior health
   1-16  care for the residents of Mexia; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Dr. Edgar and his wife, Skipper, were active
   1-18  in many civic endeavors in Mexia; they had celebrated their
   1-19  63rd wedding anniversary August 19, 1992; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A dedicated fisherman and avid hunter and
   1-21  outdoorsman, Dr. Edgar often fished in the Navasota River and
   1-22  the Fort Parker dam lake; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The Mexia community and the State of Texas have
    2-1  greatly benefitted from the generous spirit of this talented
    2-2  physician; he will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
    2-5  the members of his family:  his wife, Skipper; his sister,
    2-6  Evelyn Mae Fritch; and his nephew, Robert Edgar; and, be it
    2-7  further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-9  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-10  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-11  it do so in memory of Dr. C. C. Edgar.
