    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Fredric W. Poe for his 32 years of loyal service with
    1-4  the City of Midland and his six years of outstanding service as
    1-5  the Midland City Manager; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Retiring on January 31, 1993, Mr. Poe was well known
    1-7  for his expertise in coordinating the goals and activities of the
    1-8  various city departments; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Devoted to the Midland community and to his work,
   1-10  Mr. Poe used his superior organizational and administrative skills
   1-11  to manage effectively the far-reaching responsibilities of a city
   1-12  manager's position; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A highly respected civic leader, he has been
   1-14  extremely active in the Texas Municipal League and numerous church
   1-15  and community organizations; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A distinguished and exemplary gentleman, Mr. Poe has
   1-17  contributed significantly to the harmony of a growing city for over
   1-18  three decades; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The Midland community has greatly benefitted from
   1-20  the dedication and generous spirit of this talented official; now,
   1-21  therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-23  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Fredric W. Poe for his many years
    2-1  of able leadership and extend best wishes to him for the retirement
    2-2  years ahead; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
    2-4  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
