    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Jayne Charless Beck
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  citizens of San Angelo, Texas, in mourning the sudden loss of
    1-7  Jayne Charless Beck who died January 1, 1993, at the age of 60;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Beck inspired the
   1-10  affection, confidence, and loyalty of all those around her; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Her varied and notable contributions to the
   1-12  community enhanced the lives of her family and friends who
   1-13  benefitted from her caring nature and love; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Born in Pampa, Texas, to Margaret and
   1-15  Henry Charless, on May 21, 1932, Jayne lived in Amarillo
   1-16  until 1944 when her family moved to San Angelo; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Jayne Charless and Bernard Max Beck were married
   1-18  on May 14, 1955, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the couple
   1-19  provided a loving home for their three children; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The well-known artist and sculptor was recognized
   1-21  for her unique works; she freely gave of her time and energies to
   1-22  the Fort Concho Museum Board; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, An active member of the Christian Bible Study
    2-1  Group, she drew strength from her deep faith in God; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, The beloved individual leaves a legacy of
    2-3  compassion and commitment that will live in the memories of
    2-4  all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
    2-7  bereaved family of Jayne Charless Beck:  her husband, Bernard;
    2-8  her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Robert Upham; her sons and
    2-9  daughters-in-law, Brandon and Suzanne Beck and Kyle and Tisha Beck;
   2-10  and her seven grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-13  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-14  it do so in memory of Jayne Charless Beck.
