    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Hubert Irving Schkade
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins
    1-6  with the citizens of San Angelo in mourning the loss of
    1-7  Hubert Irving Schkade who died December 18, 1992, at the age
    1-8  of 75; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, He will be remembered with affection for his
   1-10  devotion to his family and his friends; his death is a profoundly
   1-11  sensed loss for those who knew and loved him; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Born in Giddings, Texas, on May 3, 1917, he was
   1-13  a longtime resident of San Angelo where he was involved in the
   1-14  life of the community; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Mr. Schkade married Bernice Campbell on
   1-16  December 25, 1940, in Eden, Texas, and the devoted couple
   1-17  provided a loving home for their children; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, During World War II, Mr. Schkade served his
   1-19  country with valor in the United States Army; after the war
   1-20  he joined Jim Bass Ford in San Angelo where he worked in auto
   1-21  sales for more than 30 years; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived his faith in
   1-23  his daily life, Mr. Schkade was an unselfish contributor to
    2-1  Trinity Lutheran Church; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, His strength of character and purpose were readily
    2-3  apparent to all whose lives he touched as he passed their way;
    2-4  now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
    2-7  the family of Hubert Irving Schkade:  his wife, Bernice;
    2-8  his sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Karri Schkade,
    2-9  Kermit and Susan Schkade, and Greg and Lisa Schkade; his
   2-10  daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Gary Eicher and Karen
   2-11  and Billy Fowler; his brother, Estel Schkade; his sisters,
   2-12  Leona Sefcik, Naomi Walsh, and Aileen Schkade; and his
   2-13  11 grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-15  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-16  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-17  it do so in memory of Hubert Irving Schkade.
