1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 Daniel James Arnold
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
1-6 family and friends of Daniel James Arnold in mourning his death
1-7 on December 30, 1992; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Born May 9, 1913, Mr. Arnold was the son of
1-9 J. C. and Mittie Dominy Arnold; Daniel James Arnold was educated
1-10 in Crockett public schools and at Allen Military Academy in Bryan;
1-11 and
1-12 WHEREAS, Married 55 years ago to Dorothy Westbrook,
1-13 Mr. Arnold lived together with his wife in love, honor, and
1-14 dedication through the years; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Always active in civic affairs, Mr. Arnold was a
1-16 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias; and
1-17 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Arnold was a lifetime
1-18 member of the First Baptist Church and a member of A. S. Lee Bible
1-19 Class; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Mr. Arnold was a respected farmer and rancher, and
1-21 his notable achievements contributed to the development of his
1-22 community; and
1-23 WHEREAS, Highly esteemed by his fellow ranchers,
2-1 Mr. Arnold was unquestionably a man of high principles and
2-2 integrity, and his passing is mourned by all who knew him; now,
2-3 therefore, be it
2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-5 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
2-6 of his family: his wife, Dorothy Westbrook Arnold; his son,
2-7 James R. "Butch" Arnold; and his three grandchildren and two
2-8 great-grandchildren; and, be it further
2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-10 the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
2-11 from the Texas Senate, and when the Senate adjourns this day,
2-12 it do so in memory of Daniel James Arnold.
