    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Dean Morgan for his 45 years of loyal service with
    1-4  the Lake Jackson Public Works Department; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Mr. Morgan began his successful career in 1948
    1-6  at the age of 19 when he served as operator for the water softening
    1-7  plant; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, His early years with the city entailed a variety
    1-9  of responsibilities including reading meters, working in the
   1-10  street department, and serving as sanitation superintendent; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, When he was promoted to Director of Public Works,
   1-12  Mr. Morgan became responsible for overseeing all the outside
   1-13  operations of the city except for the police and parks departments;
   1-14  and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Dedicated to the Lake Jackson community, Mr. Morgan
   1-16  consistently provided city residents with superior service, and his
   1-17  presence at city hall will be greatly missed; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, An expert in his field, Mr. Morgan is familiar
   1-19  with every project with which the city has been involved, and he
   1-20  has set a record for the number of years he has served as a city
   1-21  employee; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, In tribute to Mr. Morgan's distinguished public
   1-23  service, he is being honored with an open house at the Lake Jackson
    2-1  City Hall on January 21, 1993; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  73rd Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Dean Morgan for
    2-4  his many contributions to the City of Lake Jackson and extend best
    2-5  wishes to him for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  him as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
