1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 John Turner "Jack" Greenberg
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins
1-6 with the citizens of Lake Jackson and Brazoria in mourning
1-7 the loss of one of the city's most esteemed residents,
1-8 John Turner "Jack" Greenberg, who died January 28, 1993,
1-9 at the age of 70; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Mr. Greenberg will be remembered as a loving
1-11 husband and father and for his devotion to Lake Jackson and
1-12 its people; and
1-13 WHEREAS, The many important achievements of this
1-14 distinguished gentleman contributed to the development and
1-15 progress of his city and the business community; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Mr. Greenberg began working for Dow Chemical
1-17 Company in 1948 as a chemist before founding the Jack Greenberg
1-18 Photographic Studio in the early 1950s; and
1-19 WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived his faith in his
1-20 daily life, Jack Greenberg was a member of Saint Michael's
1-21 Catholic Church; and
1-22 WHEREAS, He was a man of integrity and good will who was
1-23 respected not only by the business community but by people from
2-1 all walks of life; and
2-2 WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
2-3 that will be cherished by those who lived and worked with him;
2-4 now, therefore, be it
2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-6 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to his
2-7 bereaved family: his wife, Phyllis; his son, John H. Greenberg;
2-8 his daughters, Kathy Goolsby, Gail Rogers, Debbie Rasco, and
2-9 Lisa Greenberg; and his 10 grandchildren; and, be it further
2-10 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-11 the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
2-12 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
2-13 day, it do so in memory of John Turner "Jack" Greenberg.
