No. 143 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, It is indeed a rare honor for the Senate of the 1-3 State of Texas to recognize the Renaissance Inner City Housing 1-4 program that has been established in the City of Fort Worth; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The "RICH" program is a way for many different groups 1-6 to improve their community by renovating dilapidated houses at their 1-7 own expense; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The members of RICH, who are realtors, contractors, 1-9 and businessmen, make substantial contributions to their city by 1-10 restoring substandard housing, thereby encouraging families and 1-11 older adults to move into neighborhoods in the inner city area; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth benefits from the RICH program 1-13 because empty housing developments encourage crime and when these 1-14 developments become attractive homes for families and older adults, 1-15 the crime rate declines; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The RICH program offers hope to people desiring to 1-17 improve their quality of life by giving them clean, affordable 1-18 housing; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 73rd Legislature, hereby commend the participants in the RICH 1-21 program for their exemplary public service; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 1-23 RICH program as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-1 _____________________________________ 2-2 President of the Senate 2-3 I hereby certify that the 2-4 above Resolution was adopted by 2-5 the Senate on February 4, 1993. 2-6 _____________________________________ 2-7 Secretary of the Senate 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Member, Texas Senate
