    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Enoch Shuffield
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the family
    1-6  and many friends of Enoch Shuffield in mourning the loss of this
    1-7  beloved citizen of Brady on January 21, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Widely acknowledged as the best car salesman in his
    1-9  area, Mr. Shuffield worked at his chosen career until a week before
   1-10  he died at the age of 92; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Born on September 20, 1900, in Milam County,
   1-12  Mr. Shuffield moved to Brady in 1925; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, In the 1950s and 1960s, Mr. Shuffield formed a
   1-14  Dodge-Plymouth dealership with the late Les Townsend; the company
   1-15  was named Shuffield and Townsend; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, When his own dealership went out of business,
   1-17  Mr. Shuffield went to work for other car dealers; his success was
   1-18  outstanding; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Highly esteemed by his fellow citizens,
   1-20  Enoch Shuffield built a clientele of second, third, and fourth
   1-21  generation customers; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, His memory will remain forever embedded in the hearts
   1-23  and minds of those who knew him; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family of
    2-3  Enoch Shuffield:  his daughters, Mary Ella Williamson, Peggy Stephens,
    2-4  and Patsy Grube; his stepdaughter, Mary Helen Jeffers; his brother,
    2-5  Albert N. Shuffield; his sisters, Murl Osborne, Cassie Boeker, and
    2-6  Lexia Brock; and his five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,
    2-7  and one great-great-grandchild; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-9  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-10  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-11  in memory of Enoch Shuffield.
