No. 180 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great pride 1-3 in welcoming foreign exchange students Martine Savard of Canada, 1-4 Martin Juul of Denmark, Lisbet Franson of Sweden, and 1-5 Christian Johannesdotter of Germany to our great state; and 1-6 WHEREAS, One of the world's most cherished assets is its 1-7 young people who will become tomorrow's leaders and statesmen; 1-8 their education and character development are of vital importance 1-9 to citizens of all countries; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The people of Texas are honored that these 1-11 distinguished foreign exchange students who are outstanding 1-12 representatives of their countries have chosen to further their 1-13 education by studying in our great state; and 1-14 WHEREAS, It is a genuine pleasure to have these gifted 1-15 students as guests in the Lone Star State and the Texas Senate, 1-16 and it is sincerely hoped that their visit is a most enjoyable 1-17 one; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 73rd Legislature, hereby extend hospitality and a warm welcome 1-20 to Martine Savard, Martin Juul, Lisbet Franson, and 1-21 Christian Johannesdotter and recognize them as Honorary Texans 1-22 with all the attendant rights and privileges thereof; and, be it 1-23 further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-2 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-3 _____________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the 2-6 above Resolution was adopted by 2-7 the Senate on February 8, 1993. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
