    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride
    1-3  in recognizing T. C. Steiner on the joyous occasion of his
    1-4  93rd birthday; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Born December 2, 1899, in Cedar Creek, Texas,
    1-6  to Charlie and Nettie Steiner, Mr. Steiner married Viola in 1920;
    1-7  the couple had two children, Myrtle Irene and Tommy Steiner; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A former rodeo performer, Mr. Steiner was the
    1-9  founder of what would become one of the largest rodeo companies
   1-10  in the United States; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Today Mr. Steiner takes pride in his family and
   1-12  enjoys the companionship of his two grandchildren and his five
   1-13  great-grandchildren; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The longtime owner of a famous Austin institution,
   1-15  Capitol Saddlery, Mr. Steiner is still active in his business and
   1-16  also manages to continue operating one of the largest ranches in
   1-17  Central Texas; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A resourceful and shrewd businessman, Mr. Steiner
   1-19  is well known and respected by the Austin community, and many of
   1-20  his Capitol Saddlery clients have been using the old leather-goods
   1-21  shop since it was first established; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A beloved Austinite, Mr. Steiner is an energetic
   1-23  and fiesty gentleman who lives his life to the fullest and who
    2-1  continues to surprise others with goals and accomplishments that
    2-2  belie his age; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby recognize T. C. Steiner as a treasured
    2-5  citizen of Austin, Texas, and wish him happy birthday and continued
    2-6  health and happiness; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
    2-8  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
