No. 189 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Marjorie Funk for her 20 years of outstanding public 1-4 service; and 1-5 WHEREAS, One of the state's oldest employees, Mrs. Funk 1-6 has been working for the state since 1972 when she became employed 1-7 at the age of 60 after her husband's death; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Devoted to the citizens of Texas and to her work 1-9 at the Attorney General's Office, Mrs. Funk has dedicated her time 1-10 and energy to the child support enforcement division, helping to 1-11 locate parents who owe child support; and 1-12 WHEREAS, In tribute to Mrs. Funk's many years of loyalty 1-13 and hard work, a retirement party was held in her honor and she 1-14 was presented with a certificate, a plaque, and a Texas flag that 1-15 had flown over the Capitol; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The State of Texas and the Attorney General's Office 1-17 have greatly benefitted from the dedication and generous spirit of 1-18 this talented and beloved employee; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Marjorie Funk for her invaluable 1-21 contributions to the citizens of Texas and extend best wishes to her 1-22 for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-1 her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-2 _____________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the 2-5 above Resolution was adopted by 2-6 the Senate on February 9, 1993. 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
