    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Seventy years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Hearn of
    1-3  Palestine placed much faith and trust in the future which have
    1-4  been amply rewarded for they recently celebrated their 70th wedding
    1-5  anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Ben L. Hearn and Sarah Elnora Lively were married
    1-7  on New Year's Day, 1923; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during the
    1-9  intervening years, yet Mr. and Mrs. Hearn have clung steadfastly
   1-10  to traditional family and moral values; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Hearn have grown
   1-12  ever stronger in love and devotion as together they have experienced
   1-13  the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hearn have been blessed with a wonderful
   1-15  family:  their children, Bill, Benjamin, Edgar, Louise, Marie, Wanda,
   1-16  and Sharron; and their 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren;
   1-17  and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The love and respect they share are shining examples
   1-19  to all who are fortunate enough to know them; now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  73rd Legislature, hereby join with the relatives and friends
   1-22  of Mr. and Mrs. Ben L. Hearn in extending them best wishes and
   1-23  congratulations on their 70th wedding anniversary; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this
    2-2  distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
