    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, on January 16, 1943,
    1-3  Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Butler of College Station placed great faith
    1-4  and trust in the future and they have been amply rewarded as they
    1-5  recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during
    1-7  the years throughout their marriage yet Mr. and Mrs. Butler have
    1-8  steadfastly embraced traditional family and moral values; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Over the years, O. D. and Jane Butler have
   1-10  grown stronger in their love and devotion as together they have
   1-11  experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Butler have been blessed with a
   1-13  wonderful family:  their children, Duke Butler, James and
   1-14  Allyson Butler, and Sid and Jan Loveless; and their three
   1-15  grandchildren; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Butler shared their happiness
   1-17  with their family and friends at a reception at the A&M United
   1-18  Methodist Church fellowship hall on January 17, 1993; now,
   1-19  therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
   1-22  Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Butler on their 50th wedding anniversary; and,
   1-23  be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-2  this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
    2-3  their lives.
