No. 205 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously celebrated, 1-3 and so it was for Mrs. Jennie Barrett of Rosebud, Texas, on 1-4 December 31, 1992, when she was the guest of honor on her special 1-5 day; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This being her 100th birthday, Mrs. Barrett has been 1-7 privileged to witness events most of us only read about in history 1-8 books; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Barrett was born in Milam County and has lived 1-10 most of her life in Cameron; she is the mother of two sons, Barbee 1-11 and John; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The blessings of her long sojourn in this world are 1-13 evident as she recalls tales of years past; Mrs. Barrett has earned 1-14 respect and friendship from all who know her; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Still a vital member of her community, she is noted 1-16 for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of this beloved matriarch 1-18 gathered at Rosebud Heritage House to honor her in a manner best 1-19 befitting the event; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-21 73rd Legislature, hereby declare Mrs. Jennie Barrett a treasured 1-22 citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more years of health 1-23 and happiness; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to her as a 2-2 token of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-3 _____________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the 2-6 above Resolution was adopted by 2-7 the Senate on February 11, 1993. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
