    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          H. F. "Buster" Loyd
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of H. F. "Buster" Loyd of Georgetown, Texas,
    1-6  on December 31, 1992, was greatly mourned by his fellow residents; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, During his lifetime he established a permanent place
    1-8  for himself in the hearts of those who lived and worked with him; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A native of Nolanville, Mr. Loyd was born
   1-10  September 6, 1911, and had lived for 40 years in Georgetown where
   1-11  he was active in community life; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, During World War II, he served his country with valor
   1-13  as a member of the United States Army; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The respected businessman owned and operated the
   1-15  Sam Bass restaurant in Round Rock until his retirement in 1971; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Mr. Loyd earned the appreciation of lawmen around the
   1-17  state when he hosted the first gathering of all living Texas Rangers
   1-18  at his restaurant; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, His genuine warmth and good humor will be missed by
   1-20  his family and friends; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father, Mr. Loyd leaves a
   1-22  legacy of compassion and commitment that will remain cherished by
   1-23  his family and the citizens of Round Rock; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-3  members of the late H. F. "Buster" Loyd:  his wife, Louise; his son,
    2-4  Jim; his daughter, Cathy Loyd Teltschik; and his brothers, Clyde and
    2-5  Hoyt; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-7  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
    2-8  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
    2-9  in memory of H. F. "Buster" Loyd.
