No. 214 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The retirement of Virgil Gray on March 31, 1993, 1-3 will bring to a close a career marked by 30 years of noteworthy 1-4 service to the citizens of Brownwood; and 1-5 WHEREAS, For the past 15 years Mr. Gray has distinguished 1-6 himself as a capable city manager who has earned the admiration 1-7 and respect of those who work with him; and 1-8 WHEREAS, His lengthy tenure in that position is a tribute 1-9 to his abilities; under his able administration his office has 1-10 handled its responsibilities with efficiency and dedication to 1-11 the people it so conscientiously serves; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. Gray's experience in city government 1-13 contributed to the knowledge and insight he has shown and in his 1-14 decisions affecting the future of Brownwood; and 1-15 WHEREAS, His leadership, professionalism, and friendship 1-16 have been invaluable to the people of his community; and 1-17 WHEREAS, The varied and notable accomplishments of this 1-18 fine administrator have influenced the growth and progress of 1-19 Brown County; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-21 73rd Legislature, hereby recognize and commend Virgil Gray for 1-22 his 30 years of exceptional public service; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-1 Mr. Gray as an expression of the appreciation of the Texas Senate 2-2 with best wishes for a most rewarding retirement. 2-3 _____________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the 2-6 above Resolution was adopted by 2-7 the Senate on February 11, 1993. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
