    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Jeannine Fairburn was recently honored as the
    1-3  Citizen of the Year by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce for
    1-4  her exceptional public service, and the Texas Senate is pleased
    1-5  to congratulate her for receiving this notable award; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A tireless volunteer, Mrs. Fairburn has lived in
    1-7  Georgetown since 1971 and has been deeply involved in numerous
    1-8  civic activities; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mrs. Fairburn and her husband, Ed, were drawn to
   1-10  the Georgetown community because of its friendliness and its little
   1-11  town atmosphere; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Well known for her devotion to the citizens of the
   1-13  city, Mrs. Fairburn has played a significant role in bringing about
   1-14  needed improvements in Georgetown; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, One of the founders of the Visitors Center and
   1-16  active in the Newcomers Club, Mrs. Fairburn is noted for making
   1-17  new people feel welcome; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, She faithfully served on the Williamson County
   1-19  Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council for many years and worked diligently
   1-20  to establish the Palace Theater as a place for community affairs; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, She was employed as a nurse at the old Georgetown
   1-22  Hospital for several years and has since volunteered more than 545
   1-23  hours at the Wesleyan Nursing Home; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Her selfless devotion to the citizens of Georgetown
    2-2  is an inspiration to others and has earned her the admiration and
    2-3  respect of Georgetown's citizenry; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Jeannine Fairburn for her many
    2-6  generous contributions to the City of Georgetown; and, be it
    2-7  further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be presented to
    2-9  the esteemed individual as an expression of the appreciation and
   2-10  high regard of the Texas Senate.
