    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Gertrude Lehrmann for her selection as the 1992 Woman of
    1-4  the Year by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, A humanitarian and community leader, Ms. Lehrmann
    1-6  works with the Washington County Historical Commission on improving
    1-7  preservation of the county's historical records in her capacity as
    1-8  county clerk; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, An exceptionally talented individual with an affable
   1-10  personality, Ms. Lehrmann has helped organize numerous programs in
   1-11  Washington County on behalf of people of all ages; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, She initiated a blood drive at her church and
   1-13  continues to be its coordinator, and she has been a Sunday school
   1-14  teacher for 15 years and a Junior Lutheran teacher for 10 years; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Energetic and resourceful, she has devoted time
   1-16  to many volunteer endeavors including tutoring adult students in
   1-17  area literacy programs; she also serves as president of the American
   1-18  Legion Auxiliary of Brenham; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Ms. Lehrmann is a woman of wisdom, integrity, and
   1-20  uncommon selflessness whose contributions to her community and the
   1-21  State of Texas have made her truly a treasured citizen; now,
   1-22  therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Gertrude Lehrmann for her many
    2-2  accomplishments and her dedication to her work and to helping others;
    2-3  and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-5  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
