    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, on June 20, 1943, Colonel and
    1-3  Mrs. Ray Hankins of Vincennes, Indiana, placed great faith and
    1-4  trust in the future and they have been amply rewarded for they
    1-5  are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably through the
    1-7  years yet Colonel and Mrs. Hankins have steadfastly embraced
    1-8  traditional family and moral values; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Over the years, Peggy and Ray Hankins have grown
   1-10  stronger in their love and devotion as together they have shared
   1-11  exciting adventures; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, During Colonel Hankins 34-year career in the
   1-13  United States Air Force and since his retirement in 1975, the
   1-14  couple has travelled extensively throughout the world, visiting
   1-15  many famous sites around the globe; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, To commemorate their 50 years of marriage, Colonel
   1-17  and Mrs. Hankins are planning a trip to each of the 50 state
   1-18  capitals to revisit the United States, to play golf in each one,
   1-19  and to meet the owners of as well as eat in their favorite dining
   1-20  rooms--McDonald's; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, On February 2, 1993, Mayor Pat Ahumada proclaimed
   1-22  "Peggy and Ray Hankins Day" in honor of the Brownsville Winter
   1-23  Texans who have made generous contributions to the Ronald McDonald
    2-1  Children's Charities; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Colonel
    2-4  and Mrs. Ray Hankins on their golden wedding anniversary; and, be
    2-5  it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their
    2-8  lives.
