    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
    1-3  pleasure in recognizing Dr. George A. Constant for his many years
    1-4  of distinguished service to the City of Victoria; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Dr. Constant is well known throughout the
    1-6  State of Texas and the nation for his exceptional work in the
    1-7  field of psychiatry and as a leader in civic affairs; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Vitally interested in the welfare and progress of
    1-9  others, the esteemed individual has contributed his time and energy
   1-10  as a member of numerous boards and organizations; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The warmth, helpfulness, and generosity of spirit
   1-12  he displays in his contacts with people from all walks of life have
   1-13  endeared him to the citizens of Victoria; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, His dedication to his work and his outstanding
   1-15  reputation as a psychiatrist resulted in the successful establishment
   1-16  of The Devereux Foundation in Victoria County in 1959, and through
   1-17  the years he has served with distinction as a member of its National
   1-18  Board of Trustees; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Dr. Constant's selfless devotion to the residents
   1-20  of Victoria serves as an inspiration to others and has earned him
   1-21  the respect and admiration of his associates; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-23  73rd Legislature, hereby express its deep appreciation to
    2-1  Dr. George A. Constant for his invaluable contributions to the
    2-2  citizens of Texas and declare Tuesday, February 16, 1993,
    2-3  "Dr. George A. Constant Day" in Victoria in honor of this remarkable
    2-4  Texas gentleman.
