No. 241 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously celebrated, 1-3 and so it was for Nyma Scoggins of Georgetown, Texas, on 1-4 January 4, 1993, when she was the guest of honor on her special 1-5 day; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This being her 98th birthday, Nyma has been 1-7 privileged to witness events most of us can only read about in 1-8 history books; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Her sweet smile and warm personality have earned her 1-10 a host of friends and admirers; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Still remarkably spry, Nyma Scoggins remains a vital 1-12 and integral member of her community; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Her zest for living and lively curiosity in all 1-14 around her are undiminished; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The cheerful lady, who possesses a wonderful sense 1-16 of humor, enjoys the companionship of her friends as she celebrates 1-17 life each day; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Friends of this beloved individual gathered at 1-19 Madella Hilliard Senior Center to honor her in a manner best 1-20 befitting the event; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-22 73rd Legislature, hereby recognize Nyma Scoggins as a treasured 1-23 citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more years of 2-1 health and happiness; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-3 as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-4 _____________________________________ 2-5 President of the Senate 2-6 I hereby certify that the 2-7 above Resolution was adopted by 2-8 the Senate on February 16, 1993. 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 Secretary of the Senate 2-11 _____________________________________ 2-12 Member, Texas Senate
