    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Isadore Roosth
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  citizens of Tyler in mourning the death of well-known business and
    1-7  civic leader Isadore Roosth; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, His death is a profoundly sensed loss for his
    1-9  family, his friends, and the citizens of Texas who benefitted from
   1-10  his lifetime of work for the public good; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. Roosth played an active role in many civic,
   1-12  professional, and charitable organizations including The University
   1-13  Cancer Foundation and the Texas Board of Health, freely giving his
   1-14  time and energies to his beloved state; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Born on December 18, 1912, Isadore Roosth attended
   1-16  Tyler public schools and Tyler Junior College; he graduated from
   1-17  Texas A&M University in 1933 with a bachelor of science degree in
   1-18  chemical engineering; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, A partner in Roosth and Genecov Production Company,
   1-20  Mr. Roosth showed diligence and dedication in all his endeavors; he
   1-21  served the company in various capacities before becoming president
   1-22  in 1971 and was a consultant with the firm at the time of his death;
   1-23  and
    2-1        WHEREAS, An astute entrepreneur, Mr. Roosth served with
    2-2  distinction as president of Business Properties, Incorporated,
    2-3  and Tyler Banking and Development Company; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, A reserve officer in the Army Corps of Engineers
    2-5  from 1934 to 1942, he served his country with valor during
    2-6  World War II and was a major in the Officer Reserve Corps; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, A member and past president of
    2-8  Ahavath Achim Synagogue and the Tyler Lodge of B'Nai B'rith, he
    2-9  was on the board of directors of the Dallas Home for Jewish Aged,
   2-10  Golden Acres; and
   2-11        WHEREAS, The citizens of Tyler and the State of Texas are
   2-12  fortunate in having the benefit of his service and his leadership;
   2-13  and
   2-14        WHEREAS, Mr. Roosth's wise counsel and good judgment will
   2-15  be greatly missed and remembered with gratitude by all who knew him;
   2-16  now, therefore, be it
   2-17        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-18  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
   2-19  children of Isadore Roosth:  Diane, Sam, Sherry, Susan, and Toni;
   2-20  and, be it further
   2-21        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-22  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-23  the Texas Senate, and when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-24  in memory of Isadore Roosth.
